To sum up,even though the first world war made tremendous losses on British society,in a certain extent,it promoted British women's liberation movement.British women acquired more opportunities to work and their incomes were close to typical males’ wages gradually,which could survive themselves and also afford the responsibility of the family at the meanwhile.After the Great War,British social prejudice against women was weakened.Their social status was improved by the contribution to the war and the gaining of suffrage.They were released from the bondage of society,becoming the new women.
