In the school I stayed in France, there were around 60 students in our grade (the 4th year of colleage, there are 5 grades in total). We were divided into 3 big groups,20 students in each.We 60 students only took few classes all together.Nomarlly,by group.Yeah, that meams the teacher had to lecture the same content for 3 times.
Still,in the classes,we were divided into smaller groups,3 or 4 students in each. Our homework was finished, submitted and judged by group.
Fewer students in one class means that we could communicate directly and freely with the teacher. It was more like chatting, rather than teaching & learning.
